About the Lioness Club

The Metamora Lioness Club was chartered on August 12, 1985, after being a Women’s Auxiliary of the Metamora Lions Club since 1967. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm (no meetings in January , February and July). The Lioness hold The “Ladies Only” Shrimp Night on the Friday before the firearm deer season opening day (November 15th) each year.
The Lioness Club, through many fundraisers, funded the building of the pavilion on the Lions Club’s grounds. The pavilion is named in the memory of charter member Ellen M. Yorks and was dedicated on May 15, 1988. The Lioness Club also provided many of the picnic tables in the pavilion as well as adding and updating the playground equipment with the Lions Club.
